Kacper Cyckowski

I'm currently a third-year Graphic Design student at UWE Bristol. My interest in design started during my Art and Design course in college. To expand my skills, I did a Foundation course at Wiltshire College in Trowbridge, where I explored visual communication.

During my time at university, I've focused on creating different types of designs, like publications and posters. I've always had a passion for working with type and print. I had studied this module within my Second Year and have pushed myself heavily towards Editorial Design. Each project I've worked on has helped me grow as a designer, from experimenting with typography to learning about printing techniques.

I'm proud of the work I've created so far. I'm excited to keep learning and improving as I continue my journey in Graphic Design. After university I hope to go into the Editorial Design industry, pushing my skillset further and learning new ones along the way.

Genocide

Genocide, Ukraine Book
In my Type & Print module, we were tasked with creating a book under the theme "Everything About One Thing." This concept intrigued me as I wanted to produce something with a significant impact, something that resonated on a global scale. My initial inspiration led me to focus on the year-long war in Ukraine that was happening at the time in 2022. The book is quite graphic and features very hard stories to read.

I chose to focus on a topic close to my heart, as Ukraine is close to Poland, I wanted to focus on this for my final project. To capture the essence of this, I created a B3-sized book with a perfect bind. In addition to my visual work, I included an interview with a survivor of the Bucha Massacre, adding a deeply personal and poignant dimension to the project.
